chamber Singers

The University of Virginia Chamber Singers, under the direction of Michael Slon, present their fall concert on Friday, November 20, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Memorial Church.

The UVA Chamber Singers are the University of Virginia's premier mixed chamber choir, performing a broad range of choral repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day. Known for their musical sensitivity, vibrant ensemble sound, and expressive performances, the ensemble regularly presents concerts that showcase both beloved masterworks and compelling contemporary compositions.

Conductor Michael Slon, Director of Choral Music at the University of Virginia, has built a reputation for thoughtful programming and expressive performances that engage singers and audiences alike. An accomplished conductor, educator, and scholar, Slon has led the University's choral program in performances of major choral-orchestral works, intimate chamber repertoire, and music from diverse cultural traditions. His commitment to artistic excellence and collaborative music-making has helped shape the Chamber Singers into one of UVA's outstanding performing ensembles.

This concert continues that tradition with an evening of beautifully crafted choral music performed in the warm acoustics of St. Paul's Memorial Church. Whether you are a longtime choral enthusiast or discovering the ensemble for the first time, the performance promises an engaging and memorable musical experience.
