Wind Ensemble Spring 2024 Concert
The University of Virginia Wind Ensemble will hold their Spring 2024 concert on Monday, April 22, at the Hunter Smith Band Building, starting at 7:30pm. The event is free and open to the public. The livestream link is available here.
Repertoire includes Celebration by Adolphus Hailstork, Desert Sage by Michael Markowski, O Cool is the Valley by Vincent Persichetti, Tirana by Carol Barnett, Beneath from Immersion by Alex Shapiro, and Dance No. 1 from Jazz Suite #2 by Dmitri Shostakovich.
Conducted by the Director of Bands, Dr. Elliott Tackitt, this 50-member ensemble features the most outstanding brass, woodwind, and percussion players at the University, and rehearses and performs in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The focus of the UVA Wind Ensemble is for students to explore their artistic potential in a collaborative environment.
The Hunter Smith Band Building is located at 180 Culbreth Road at the University of Virginia. Parking for the concert is available at the Culbreth Road Parking Garage.
