In this experiential online masterclass, you will learn performance tools to transcend the trap of fixating about technique and the mechanics of playing your instrument, the “how” of the music making process, so you can consistently perform from the “what” of the music making process—expressing your unique musical voice. By combining embodied awareness and aesthetic perception your unique musical artistry will come into focus, providing a powerful foundation for your performance process. The masterclass will combine lecture, reflective exercises, and small group activities to help you discover who you are as a musical artist.

In this program you will learn how to:

  • Deepen your connection to the music you are playing
  • Tap into the wisdom of your body so it can guide you in your music making
  • Use “felt audiation” for both maintaining focus while performing and improving your technique and mechanics
  • Pinpoint the qualities of expression that hold you back as a musical communicator
  • Apply imaginative thinking in your practicing and performing
  • Create an emulation practice that unlocks the mirror neuron system in your brain
