LINÜ
LINÜ‘s mission is to embrace the many possibilities that arise with new technology and to expand the possibilities of music-making, through creative collaborations with other artists and other artistic mediums.
Gulli Bjornsson and Jiji are two artists searching for new ways to promote classical music. Both virtuosic and versatile, Gulli and Jiji have received multiple accolades for their guitar playing and have backgrounds in composition, film, electronic music, visual arts, programming, and theater. Their diverse backgrounds, classical training and contemporary influences all come to fruition as they present unique programs of classical music, improvisations, arrangements, and new compositions on classical and electric guitars.
Notable past performances include the emCon Anime Festival, Dumbarton Concert Series, Dominican Guest Concert Series, Mengi, Essex Winter Series, Yale Cabaret Satellite Series, the Darkness Sounding Festival, and a series of musical events for virtual reality headsets, in collaboration with visual artist Drew Busmire. In 2020 L I N Ü was chosen as the Fenton Brown Emerging Artist of 2020.
Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA's historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda (map).
