The University of Virginia's McIntire Department of Music presents the UVA Flute Ensemble on Saturday November 23 at 1pm in the Rotunda Dome Room. The UVA Flute Ensemble, directed by Kelly Sulick, will feature UVA flutists.The concert is free and open to the public.

The UVA Flute Ensemble, is comprised of talented student musicians majoring in all areas of study. Recitals feature music of standard flute repertoire as well as contemporary works including pieces for soloists and multiple flutes. Recent concerts have celebrated the works of Catherine McMichael, J.S. Bach, Christopher Caliendo, Walter Ross and John D'earth.  The group performs a recital at the end of each semester as well as outreach recitals in the Charlottesville community.

Kelly Sulick teaches flute at the University of Virginia and serves as Principal Flute in the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia and the director of the UVA Chamber Music Series. She earned her Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of Southern California and recently completed three seasons as principal flute with the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra in Los Angeles, California. Equally at home on the concert and popular stages, Ms. Sulick has performed and recorded with several rock bands, including The New Fidelity, a Mod-Power Pop outfit from southern California; Superdot, a world music group based in Detroit; and Ann Arbor singer-songwriter Timothy Monger. A champion of new music, she has premiered several works and participated in the Minimalist Jukebox series, a music festival curated by John Adams. Ms. Sulick has recorded several compact discs, including William Bolcom's Songs of Innocence and of Experience under Leonard Slatkin, a Naxos release that received four Grammy awards including Best Classical Album. Her principal teachers include Jim Walker and Amy Porter.

The UVA Rotunda dome room is the culmination, both architecturally and philosophically, of the Jeffersonian design for the original University.

Parking is available in the Central Grounds Parking Garage. Visitors may exit the garage on the fourth floor near the University Bookstore. The Rotunda is a short walk north along McCormick Road.  Parking is also available in the parking lots of the UVA Corner along University Avenue.
