Tina Knight

Tina Knight serves as the Assistant to the Chair and Academic Programs Coordinator for the University of Virginia’s Department of Music, where she oversees a broad range of administrative functions essential to the department’s operations. In her role, she provides support across fiscal administration, academic and student services, human resources processes, communications, and the coordination of departmental policies, all while helping advance the mission to create a community built on collaboration and transparency through thoughtful, student‑ and faculty‑centered processes.

Tina offers a strong background in academic administration and student support, with extensive experience in academic program coordination, leading departmental initiatives, and managing complex organizational operations. She has been recognized for her leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to streamlining processes, strengthened by a BA in Business Administration from Averett University and a graduate certificate in eMarketing from the University of Virginia.

Guided by core values of being collaborative, accountable, supportive, and adaptable, Tina brings these principles to both her professional and personal life. Outside her work at UVA, she devotes her time to volunteering at Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue and enjoys gardening and painting, activities that reflect her creativity, compassion, and dedication to community.
