A Colloquium with Steph Ceraso, Njelle Hamilton, and Samhita Sunya

On Friday, April 28th at 3:30pm the Music Department will present a showcase colloquium in 107 Old Cabell Hall on The Lawn at the University of Virginia.  This event is free and open to the public. This collective session is designed to showcase the work of our affiliated faculty at UVA. 

Steph Ceraso, Associate Professor of Digital Writing & Rhetoric in the English Department, NEH Mayo Distinguished Teaching Professor, and author of Sounding Composition, will present: "Sound, Bodies, Sensation: Notes Toward a Holistic Listening Pedadogy"

Njelle HamiltonAssociate Professor in the Departments of English and Africana Studies, and author of Phonographic Memories will present:“'Sound Sistrens’: Listening to Female DJs in Contemporary Caribbean Fiction.“

Samhita Sunya, Assistant Professor of Cinema in the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages and Culture, and author of Sirens of Modernity will present: "Sirens of Modernity: World Cinema via Bombay.”

Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA’s historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda. (map) Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, in the C1 parking lot off McCormick Rd, and in the parking lots at the UVA Corner.
