Spring 2027 CCT Concert
New Music Concert
Discover the next generation of musical creativity as the University of Virginia Department of Music presents an evening of original works by members of the Composition & Computer Technologies (CCT) program and guest artists on Tuesday, March 16, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. in Old Cabell Hall. This concert is free and open to the public.
The concert features original compositions that blur the boundaries between acoustic performance, electronic media, and emerging technologies. Created by graduate students and faculty in UVA's internationally recognized Composition & Computer Technologies program, the evening showcases innovative works that reflect today's evolving landscape of contemporary music and multimedia art.
The Composition & Computer Technologies program fosters creative exploration across composition, sound art, digital media, interactive performance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Students work alongside distinguished faculty artists to create music that ranges from intimate chamber works and electroacoustic compositions to immersive multimedia experiences, installations, and experimental performance.
Supported by facilities including the Virginia Center for Computer Music, the Jefferson Starship Recording Studio, the Music Interactions Lab, and the Wilson Interdisciplinary Maker Space, CCT students and faculty regularly present their work at festivals, galleries, conferences, and concert halls throughout the United States and abroad.
The spring concert celebrates a year of artistic research and creative collaboration, offering audiences the opportunity to experience new works that challenge conventions, embrace new technologies, and imagine new possibilities for musical expression.
Detailed program information will be available closer to the concert date.
