UVA Baroque Orchestra Concert Spring 2026
The UVA Baroque Orchestra, directed by David Sariti, presents its Spring Concert on Saturday, April 4, at 3:30 in Old Cabell Hall. The group will be joined by Baroque cellist Brady Lanier of Colonial Williamsburg in a program of music for large and small ensembles. The Baroque Ensemble will perform works by JS Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann, and Purcell.
The Baroque Orchestra, directed by faculty violinist David Sariti, presents dynamic, vital performances of music from the 17th and 18th centuries with the instruments and performance practices for which it was written, without a conductor. The experience challenges preconceived notions of music performance. Students perform on period instruments at Baroque pitch from the University’s extensive collection.
Every year a distinguished Weber Endowment Guest Artist works with the group, presenting a public masterclass and concert. Recent guests have included Grammy Award-winning Quicksilver, Rebel Baroque, fortepianist David Breitman, The Vivaldi Project, and others.
Tickets are $10 General Admission / $9 UVA Faculty & Staff / $5 students / Free for UVA Students who reserve in advance. Tickets are available at the Arts Box Office by visiting artsboxoffice.virginia.edu, calling (434) 924-3376 or at Old Cabell Hall one hour prior to the performance.
