UVa Flute Ensemble presents Folk Music from Around the World

The University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music presents the UVa Flute Ensemble in concert on Sunday, November 22nd at 1:00 p.m. in Brooks Hall 

The UVA Flute Ensemble, is comprised of talented student musicians majoring in all areas of study. Recitals feature music of standard flute repertoire as well as contemporary works including pieces for soloists and multiple flutes. The UVa Flute Ensemble is directed by Kelly Sulick who is the Principal Flute in the Charlottesville Symphony, directs the UVA Chamber Music Series and teaches at the University. 

Folk Music from Around the World," features a variety of folk song settings from across the globe. Come hear traditional folk songs from South Africa, England, Japan, and more!

The UVA Flute Ensemble, directed by Kelly Sulick, features Tanya Akl, Michael Clark, Daniela Fuller, Jocelyn Huang, Tatevik Markaryan, Avery Morrison, Adam Naidorf, Julia Rauen, Rachel Seldowitz, Matthew Shih, Jessie Tosto, and Lucy Wu.

The program features music composed and arranged by Robert L. Cathey, Jennifer Higdon, Ricky Lombardo, Amy Rice-Young, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Kelly Via. The concert is free and open to
the public.

Historic Brooks Hall is on University Avenue adjacent to University of Virginia’s Rotunda and directly across the street from St. Paul’s Memorial Church and the Bank of America.

Parking is on the street or in one of the many parking lots & garages on "the Corner" across from Brooks Hall in lots on Elliewood Avenue, University Avenue, Fourteenth Street, and Wertland Street.
