Wind Ensemble Spring 2026
The UVA Wind Ensemble presents its spring 2026 concert on Monday, April 20, at 7:30 PM, entitled Between Memory and Light. The concert includes selections from Gustav Holst’s First Suite for Military Band, Op. 28 No. 1 and Percy Grainger's Lincolnshire Posy, Florence B. Price’s Dances in the Canebrakes arranged for band; Henry Dorn’s Never Forgetting inspired by the words of Maya Angelou, Saint-Saëns’ Pas Redoublé Op. 86 arranged for band, and John Mackey’s Aurora Awakes. Join the UVA Wind Ensemble and their director, Elliott Tackitt, at the Hunter Smith Band Building as they perform Between Memory and Light. Free Admission.
Led by UVA’s Director of Bands, Elliott Tackitt, the 45-member Wind Ensemble features the most outstanding brass, woodwind, and percussion players at the University and rehearses and performs in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The focus of the UVA Wind Ensemble is for students to explore their artistic potential in a collaborative environment.

The Hunter Smith Band Building is located at 180 Culbreth Rd. Parking is available next door, at the Culbreth Parking Garage at 130 Culbreth Rd.
